Hello, I’m Ondřej Mottl.

I am an Assistant Professor of Plant Ecology and head of the Laboratory of Quantitative Ecology at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. I study long-term biodiversity dynamics across large spatial and temporal scales. You can learn more about my ongoing work through my projects.

🔭 My research integrates fossil-pollen archives, contemporary vegetation, functional traits, climate data, and quantitative modelling to understand ecological memory, biodiversity change, human impacts, and climate-change responses.

🌱 I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring, helping to inspire and guide the next generation of ecologists and data scientists. Learn more about my teaching activities.

💡 In addition, I proudly serve as the Open Science Champion at Charles University, advocating for scientific reproducibility - a cause close to my heart.

💬 Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss R programming, GitHub, biodiversity patterns, or other topics of interest.
